Birthday Month Brings Reflections!

So once again my birthday is imminent.

I'll be 31 next Friday and time feels like its just flying ahead at a pace i'm not quite ready for. I never sat and thought about where i'd be turning 30, but where I am just doesn't quite feel right

I'm still living at home (albeit getting married next year), and I'm still doing admin (albeit with a smidgen of counselling work happening for me)

I never had great expectations for my life, I just hoped for a better-ness than I could imagine... i'm not sure i'm there yet

I'm not a person to whine about the things I've missed out on

I've experienced alot in my almost 31 years... alot I've learned from... regardless of whether its good or bad. like everyone I have regrets... but everything I've done has paved the way to make me the person I am and for that I'm grateful.

there is alot of people out there who don't get the same freedom, don't have the same health, don't have the luxuries I frequently forget I have, don't have family and loved ones around them... and so i need to remember i'm lucky in many respects.

I don't always feel this way, but I try to make myself remember it!

so I'm gonna end very short blog by quoting one of my favourite Youtube Vloggers JoshuaDTV by saying

"Be Nice to People"

Au Revoir!

Where have you been?...... and September faves!

Where have you been Tasha? what have you been doing? where had you gone...well in a nutshell, nowhere really, I just lost the blogging interest..because I had nothing I really felt like chatting about, I had so much going on, just no time or inclination to blog. but it hit me this morning, I miss my online rants. It's been a crazy time, and almost a year since i last blogged, so much to fill you all in on, so little time... pffft who am I kidding, here's plenty of time! but alot of the stuff that's happened!the main one is we booked our wedding! Woop Woop... tres excitement!., alot of crappy stuff has happened in the midst of this... Job issues, worries etc, however we've both borne it as well as possible and are keepin on, keepin on!rather than bombard any readers with the past years antics, I'm gonna start fresh. with updates etc on a regular basis when possible, and I'll throw in the odd bit of info as to whats been happening and where the wedding process is at (I'll do regular wedding updates)so, my first blog post back --- after all that recap--- is a September faves blog (nothing like starting it off lightly!)
Enjoy!N xxx

SEPTEMBER FAVES

So-Cal Curls
I have naturally wavy hair, that with a splodge of hair mousse and my diffusser can look grand (although because its pretty lomg now it can sit out quite big and Krusty the clown like!), so I tend to just straighten my hair, but I don't want to put my hair under that heat everyday and it is unfortunate that I have to wash my hair as it gets greasy quite quickly unless i dry shampoo it and throw it up into a messy bun. a friend highly recommended the so-cal curls band and i bought it via ETSY. the picture below was my first attempt of an overnight curling session and it looked pretty well, but ive got it down to a fine art now and I love it. unfortuntely my first band, the green one in the pic, got over heated because i left it in the microwave and got distracted so i'm on to my second band, but its a God-send.

The below picture is one from this weekend, and is early evening after a day of wear (I pinned my fringe back) I did buy a curling wand which is great also, but this band gives me loose calls with absolutely no effort. I spritz them with a bit of hairspray and they last all day! A great gentle way to curl my hair!

Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner pen

I've always been a Kohl eyeliner girl, because I like the smudged look and I'm not creative enough to use gel, however my contact lenses don't particularly like kohl! i was hmmmin and haa-in about trying the benefit they're real eyeliner pen, because it looks liek even a dummy like me could use it, but the reviews weren't great and its hugely expensive. i begrudge paying the £8 for my current foundation so thats waaaayyy over budget.
anyhoo i was reading blogs etc online and they all said the Maybelline version was just as good if not better. so I splurdged the £8.99 it cost whilst a 3 for 2 deal was on. and whaddyaknow, my first attempt at gel eyeliner was successful! it went on smoothly and looked great. Ive had so many comments everytime I use it that I'm hooked. the downside is its a biatcchh to remove but i have an oil based makeup remover which is also in september faves below which works a treat!

Seventeen CC Cream

the whole BB vs CC cream thing confuses me, but i know one thing, I bought the Seventeen CC

cream as part of some offer and i love it. i bought it at the same time as I bought the matte finish foundation and its waaaaayyyyyy better. it has a good heavy coverage without the heavy feeling and it does last allday. I wear the medium shade and its definitely my favourite foundation to date, and its only £6.99... result!

L'Oréal Paris Skin Perfection 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil

ok I'll be honest about this one, I was concerned that even when i use my normal cleansers, that my face isn't completely devoid of makeup, so my theory was i'll use an oil based remover. this stuff is great for removing eye makeup etc all but i don't feel like my face is clean even when i just use it, so I always finish with my cleanser. its great for initial makeup removal, particularly the Maybelline gel eyeliner, it comes off very easily with this, but it doesn't give the totally clean feeling. I do rate it highly as an initial makeup remover though!

Naked Cakes

The H2B and I went to a quirky wedding fair at the beginning of september and my preconceived notions of cupcakes at our wedding was totally blown out of the water when i saw this cake displayed!
How amazing does that look? I love victoria sponge, Hate marzipan and icing and all that, and fell in love with this style of cake for our wedding. my beloved and I chatted to the company, who it turns out, we've bought cake pops off their stall in our local town, and after going away and thinking about it, we booked a chat with them at their premises about 20mins from where we live, and as of saturday our cake is ordered. we got to try a few slices and wowza... its amazing... I  mean who doesn't love victoria sponge!

And last but by no means least... my online fav is....

I mean you dont need to be a bride-to-be to love Etsy, its amazing, and its not just my september fave, its my lifetime fav; Although I'm at this stage pretty sure, my stationary, jewellery (for me and bridal party), gifts for the boys, wedding hangers, cake topper and favors are all coming from it. its got gorgeous stuff and I adore trawling through it night after night when football is on! I should add its where I got my so-cal band from.. if yo're not a member - you should be!!!

hope you all enjoyed this months Favs. i hope to make this a regular monthly feature

have a great Day!
